WoodmenLife Appoints Nate Smith as First Chief AI Officer

WoodmenLife has announced the appointment of Nate Smith as its inaugural Vice President & Chief AI Officer. This newly created leadership role signifies the organization's commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into its operations. Smith, who joined WoodmenLife in 2012, previously served as Chief Data Officer.

In his new capacity, Smith will spearhead the development and execution of WoodmenLife's AI strategy. His responsibilities include establishing AI governance frameworks, identifying and prioritizing AI applications, and collaborating with executive leadership to integrate AI into core business processes. He will also oversee the consolidated AI and Data organization, encompassing Data, Data Analytics, Data Science, and AI Engineering functions.

Smith expressed enthusiasm for the new role, highlighting the potential of AI to modernize operations and enhance support for members. WoodmenLife President & CEO Denise M. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Management of Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration from Bellevue University. He is also a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer and Microsoft Certified Trainer.
