Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) made a brief but memorable appearance at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) red carpet before heading home to care for his two-month-old daughter. The rapper, 35, shared with E! News that his baby girl had a slight fever, prompting him to prioritize his parental duties over the awards show.

MGK, who was scheduled to present an award at the Las Vegas-based event, explained that he needed to "handle my business" at home, emphasizing his dedication to fatherhood. He shared that he was "born to be a dad" and that it was his "purpose." This is MGK's second child, as he also has a 15-year-old daughter, Casie, with ex Emma Cannon.

The baby girl, born in March to MGK and actress Megan Fox, is bringing the former couple closer. A source revealed to PEOPLE that they are "really loving this time right now" and are focused on the present as parents. The source also noted that they are "getting along really well" despite their past engagement and subsequent split in November 2024. Fox also has three children with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green.

The 2025 AMAs, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, aired live on Monday, May 26th, from the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. While fans may have missed MGK's presence at the show, his commitment to his daughter undoubtedly resonated with many.
