A Norwegian man got a rude awakening recently when a cargo ship ended up in his front yard! Johan Helberg, residing in Byneset on the Trondheim Fjord, was fast asleep when his neighbor, Jostein Jrgensen, frantically rang his doorbell and called his phone to alert him to the bizarre situation.

Jrgensen, who woke up just moments before the incident, heard the ship approaching and immediately knew something was amiss. He rushed outside and attempted to alert Helberg, but to no avail. "I was sure that he was already outside," Jrgensen recounted, "but no, there was no sign of life."

Helberg, understandably shocked, told TV2 that the ship narrowly missed hitting a rocky outcrop that could have caused significant damage to his home. "It only missed by a few meters," he said.

The shipping company, NCL, is currently investigating the cause of the grounding. Bente Hetland, the managing director, stated that they are awaiting the authorities' findings. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported. Initial investigations by local police suggest the officer steering the ship may have fallen asleep at the helm.
