UP Board Revises Exam Schedule for 2026
The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) has announced revisions to the examination schedule for the Class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled for 2026. The changes, released on Tuesday, address scheduling conflicts that affected a significant number of students. The board has also released a revised exam schedule.
The initial schedule, announced on November 5th, presented challenges for students, prompting the board to take action. The revised schedule aims to alleviate these difficulties. All exams will now be held between February 18, 2026, and March 12, 2026. Students will receive their admit cards from their class teachers or principals.
Key changes include adjustments to the English and Sanskrit exam dates for intermediate grades. Previously, both exams were scheduled for the same day. Under the revised schedule, the English exam will remain on the original date, February 20th, while the Sanskrit exam has been moved to March 12th. This change is expected to impact approximately 18,000 students.
Additionally, the Hindi exam schedule has been modified. The board has decided to conduct the high school Hindi and elementary Hindi exams in the first shift on February 18th, and the intermediate General Hindi and Hindi subject exams in the second shift on February 18th. This change was made to reduce the number of exam centers and address logistical challenges.
The board exams will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be from 8:30 am to 11:45 am, and the second shift will be from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. Over 5.2 million students are registered to take the exams, including over 2.7 million in Class 10 and nearly 2.5 million in Class 12.
The revised schedule is available on the official UP Board website, upmsp.edu.in. Exams for other subjects will proceed as previously scheduled.
BNN's Perspective:
While scheduling adjustments are often necessary to accommodate student needs and logistical considerations, it's crucial that the board continues to prioritize clear communication and efficient planning to minimize disruption for students. The revised schedule appears to be a positive step in addressing the initial concerns.
