Nike to Release Highly Anticipated Union x Fragment x Air Jordan 1 Collaboration
Nike is set to release a highly anticipated collaboration between Union and Fragment, potentially one of the most sought-after Air Jordan 1 releases in recent memory. This follows a busy 2026 for the brand, including retro releases during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Fragment Design, spearheaded by Hiroshi Fujiwara, previously collaborated with Air Jordan in 2014, creating a popular Black/White/Blue design. The original pair currently commands a high price on the resale market. Union, founded by Chris Gibbs, previously partnered with Jordan 1 in 2018, offering a deconstructed take on classic colorways. These high-end pairs also fetch significant prices on the aftermarket.
The collaboration has already seen an exclusive release during the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend. The Varsity Red colorway was initially released on February 14 via Union Los Angeles and select Fragment showrooms on February 7. Nike has confirmed a wider global release of the Varsity Red colorway via the Nike SNKRS app, priced at $205, scheduled for February 27, 2026. This release is expected to be limited, with full adult sizing available.
Initial raffles for the Black/Navy colorway are underway, with select entries receiving early access on February 18. A wider Nike SNKRS release for this colorway is anticipated to follow the Varsity Red release.
BNN's Perspective: The collaboration between Union, Fragment, and Nike highlights the continued demand for limited-edition sneakers and the power of strategic partnerships within the fashion industry. While the high resale values may be a barrier for some, the release underscores the enduring appeal of the Air Jordan 1 and the brands involved.
