UNC Denies Report of Ban on Bill Belichick's Girlfriend from Football Facility
The University of North Carolina (UNC) has refuted a report claiming that Jordon Hudson, the girlfriend of new Tar Heels football coach Bill Belichick, has been banned from the school's football facility. The denial comes after a podcast episode by Pablo Torre of "Pablo Torre Finds Out" alleged that UNC "higher-ups" had made the decision to restrict Hudson's access.
In a statement released shortly after the podcast aired, Carolina Athletics stated that Hudson is "welcome to the Carolina Football facilities" and will continue to manage activities related to Belichick's personal brand outside of his coaching responsibilities.
The initial report, citing sources within the UNC athletic department, suggested Hudson was no longer permitted in the football building or on the field. The podcast also mentioned concerns from Belichick's family regarding Hudson's potential impact on his legacy and reputation.
Despite UNC's denial, Torre has stood by his reporting, stating that his information came from the "highest levels of the football program." He also noted that the podcast had filed numerous Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests that were not satisfied.
Hudson, 24, has become a prominent figure since Belichick, 73, took over as UNC's head coach in December. She has reportedly taken on the role of Belichick's de facto publicist, recently making headlines for interrupting a CBS interview with Belichick. There has been speculation about her role with the program, including her involvement in addressing potential nepotism allegations when Belichick's son was hired as the defensive coordinator. The situation highlights the complexities of personal relationships and their intersection with high-profile coaching positions.
