UNC Denies Report: Bill Belichick's Girlfriend Welcome at Football Facilities
The University of North Carolina (UNC) has refuted a report claiming Bill Belichick's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is banned from its football facilities. The school issued a statement on Friday, May 9th, obtained by PEOPLE, stating that reports about Hudson's role are "false."
According to UNC, Hudson, who is 24, is not an employee but is "welcome to the Carolina Football facilities." The statement also confirmed that Hudson will continue to manage Belichick's personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football.
The denial comes after ESPN reporter Pablo Torre reported on his podcast that "higher-ups" at UNC had decided last week to bar Hudson from the football building and field. Torre, however, doubled down on his report, stating that he stands by his reporting, which came from sources within the football program. He also mentioned that he had filed numerous Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests that were not satisfied.
Torre's report also touched upon concerns from Belichick's family regarding Hudson, with one source reportedly expressing worry about the potential impact on Belichick's legacy.
The couple has been relatively quiet since Belichick's controversial interview on CBS Sunday Morning in April, where Hudson, acting as his publicist, interjected to shut down a question about how they met. Belichick later defended Hudson, stating she was simply ensuring the interview stayed on track.
