UFC "Freedom 250" Card Announced, Featuring Two Title Fights
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has unveiled the lineup for its "Freedom 250" event, scheduled for June 14th. The card, which will be held at the White House, will feature two prominent title fights.
The main event will showcase an undisputed lightweight title bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. Topuria, undefeated with a record of 17-0, will defend his title against Gaethje, who holds a record of 27-5. Gaethje previously won the interim UFC lightweight title in January. Topuria has been inactive since winning the 155-pound title in June 2025.
The co-main event will feature an interim heavyweight title fight. With reigning champion Tom Aspinall sidelined due to injury, Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane will compete for the interim gold. Pereira, with a record of 13-3, vacated the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship to pursue the heavyweight title. Gane's record stands at 13-2, with one no-contest.
The card will also include a bout featuring former UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O'Malley, who will face Aiemann Zahabi. The rest of the card has been set, with additional fights scheduled.
BNN's Perspective: The "Freedom 250" card promises to be a significant event for the UFC, headlined by compelling matchups in both the lightweight and heavyweight divisions. The inclusion of established names like Topuria, Gaethje, Pereira, and Gane, along with the return of O'Malley, suggests a well-rounded and exciting fight night. While the absence of the reigning heavyweight champion is unfortunate, the interim title fight provides a compelling narrative and ensures high stakes for the competitors.
