**TTC Launches Inaugural Paid Summer Internship Program**

Trident Technical College (TTC) has launched its first-ever paid summer internship program, welcoming six college students to its various departments. The program, which began on May 27, offers internships in accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, and the InterTech Group Wellness Center.

The participating interns come from a diverse range of academic backgrounds, representing institutions such as Newberry College, the University of South Carolina Columbia, the University of South Carolina Aiken, the University of South Carolina Upstate, and the College of Charleston, as well as TTC itself.

Over the course of the 10-week program, which concludes on July 31, the interns will gain career-focused experience designed to connect classroom learning with real-world application. The program emphasizes professional development, providing opportunities to collaborate with industry professionals and strengthen both technical and soft skills.

According to DeVetta Williams Hughes, associate vice president for human resources at TTC, the program benefits both the institution and the interns. It provides students with valuable, hands-on work experience, while also providing TTC with fresh perspectives and a potential pipeline of future talent.

TTC has also partnered with the Charleston Regional Development Alliance (CRDA) to further enrich the internship experience. Through CRDA's Charleston Intern Network Program, interns are invited to networking events designed to help them connect with peers and build leadership skills.
