Volkswagen Unveils All-Electric ID. Polo GTI

Volkswagen, a leading electric vehicle (EV) seller in Europe, has announced the GTI version of its ID. Polo, marking the first fully electric GTI model in the brand's 50-year history. This new model is specifically designed for the European market.

The ID. Polo GTI boasts a 166 kW (226 PS) electric motor, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. It comes equipped with features designed for a sporty driving experience, including an electronically controlled front axle differential lock, adaptive DCC chassis, 19-inch alloy wheels, premium sports seats, and IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights. Drivers can activate a dynamic mode for the drive and chassis systems with a single button press, accompanied by a specific color and graphics scheme in the cockpit.

The vehicle is equipped with a 52 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 424 km. The luggage compartment offers a volume of up to 1,240 liters. The ID. Polo GTI is designed for everyday use and can fast charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes, with a charging capacity of up to 105 MW. The battery utilizes a nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) composition.

Pre-sales for the ID. Polo GTI are scheduled to begin in the fall, with a starting price of 39,000.
