Houston Texans co-founder and senior chair Janice McNair has passed away at the age of 89. The team announced her death on Tuesday, marking the end of an era for the franchise she helped build from the ground up.

McNair, alongside her late husband Bob McNair, was instrumental in bringing the National Football League back to Houston in 2002. The couple co-founded the expansion team following the relocation of the Houston Oilers. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell lauded McNair's "extraordinary generosity, grace and faith," stating her impact on the Houston community and the NFL will be felt for generations.
