ACQUIRE Corp. and Red Dunes Games Announce Groundbreaking Co-Development Deal

In a significant move for the global gaming industry, Japanese developer ACQUIRE Corp. has announced a multi-year co-development partnership with UAE-based publisher Red Dunes Games. This collaboration marks a rare instance of a major Japanese studio joining forces with a Middle Eastern publisher, signaling a growing trend of cross-cultural partnerships in the industry.

ACQUIRE Corp., known for its work on popular franchises like *Tenchu*, *Way of the Samurai*, and *Akibas Trip*, has also contributed to successful titles such as *Octopath Traveler* and the upcoming *Mario & Luigi: Brothership*. Red Dunes Games, founded in 2022 by Sultan Darmaki and Mohamed Jneibi, has primarily focused on indie game development. The company sought a partnership with an established developer to expand its global presence, emphasizing original storytelling and cross-cultural production.

The partnership will see the co-development of several original intellectual properties (IPs). Three projects are currently in development under the codenames "Project Tremor," featuring kaiju battles; "Project Umbra," a dark fantasy hunting game; and "Project Shadowcar," a shadowy espionage thriller. All three titles are slated for release on PC and major consoles, with multilingual support. Initial reveals for these projects are planned for upcoming international events, including the Tokyo Game Show in late September 2025.

Both companies expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. Red Dunes Games CEO and creative director Sultan Darmaki highlighted the belief that the future of gaming lies in global collaboration. ACQUIRE Corp. CEO Takuma Endo emphasized the studio's commitment to originality and excitement about partnering with Red Dunes Games on a "bold new global challenge."

BNN's Perspective: This partnership is a positive development for the gaming industry. It reflects a growing trend of international collaboration, which can lead to more diverse and innovative games. While the specifics of the projects remain under wraps, the focus on original IPs and multilingual support suggests a commitment to reaching a global audience. This type of collaboration could be a model for future partnerships, fostering creativity and expanding the reach of the gaming industry.
