LOWER KEYS The term landboat might seem like an oxymoron, especially in a prime angling destination like the Florida Keys with miles and miles of open water, but the innovative start-up business, LandBoat Charters, has taken the fishing experience from sea to shore.
Kristi and Ryan Isrow started the business in 2018, after ditching the cold Michigan winters and finding their way to Big Pine Key in their recreational vehicle. Kristi had been a travel nurse, which she continues to do part time at the Urgent Care Center in Key West. Ryan had always been self-employed as a contractor, but after 30 years, they packed up for their dream of living an island-life.
