Local Resident Susan Ann Bunker Passes Away at 78
Surry, NH – Susan Ann Bunker, a longtime resident, has passed away at the age of 78. Mrs. Bunker, born Susan Ann Bedaw on March 19, 1947, in Keene, died at her home on August 23, 2025, surrounded by family.
A graduate of Monadnock Regional High School in 1965, Mrs. Bunker was known for her dedication to her community. She worked at Kingsbury Credit Union in Keene and later found joy in tutoring students at Keene High School.
Beyond her professional life, Mrs. Bunker had a passion for cooking. She was an avid viewer of cooking channels and amassed a large collection of cookbooks, which she used to create unique recipes. She particularly enjoyed hosting family holiday dinners, with her desserts, especially her pies, being a highlight.
Music was another source of enjoyment for Mrs. Bunker, with The Beatles and The Everly Brothers among her favorites. She also enjoyed reading and spending time at the coast of Maine, as well as boat rides on Lake Sunapee and the Connecticut River.
Family was paramount to Mrs. Bunker. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Daniel W. Bunker Sr.; her son, Daniel W. Bunker Jr., and his wife; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Ells, in 1996.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Foley Funeral Home in Keene. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at St. Bernard Church in Keene, followed by burial in Centennial Cemetery in Gilsum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
