St. Louis Blues Announce New Director of Alumni
The St. Louis Blues have appointed a new Director of Alumni. The former NHL defenseman, who retired from his playing career in 2016, will now oversee all aspects of the Blues Alumni Association and its charitable endeavors.
During his 13-season NHL career, the new Director spent the majority of his time with the Blues. He is a former Calder Trophy winner, earning the honor in the 2002-03 season. Throughout his career with the Blues, he accumulated 181 points and 1,026 penalty minutes. He holds the second-highest number of games played in franchise history, and the most by a defenseman. His penalty minutes rank fourth in the team's history. Despite not being known for scoring, he did manage two game-winning goals in the playoffs, including one in overtime.
In his new role, the Director will serve as the liaison between the Alumni Association and the Blues organization. He will also be responsible for providing resources and support for former Blues players, focusing on their mental, physical, and wellness needs, and ensuring their continued involvement with the team.
The Director will be supported by a senior coordinator, who previously served in the same role. In addition to his new responsibilities, he will continue to serve as the President of the Blues Alumni Board. The board includes several other former Blues players.
