Sridevi-Boney Kapoor romance divorce with Mona Kapoor tore apart Raveena Tandon: I was friends with both of them

Raveena Tandon and Sridevi shared screen space in the 1994 film Laadla and in a recent interview, Raveena recalled that while she was friends with the late actor, she also had a very close friendship with Mona Kapoor. Mona Kapoor was the first wife of producer Boney Kapoor, and he later married Sridevi. Raveena said that for a few years, she was "torn apart" between her two friends. Sridevi was known for being shy and reserved but Raveena's accounts suggest that she was rather quite pally with the Mohra actor. "It was such a pleasure always being with her and at the time, I remember all these guys used to tease me when Boney ji was not dating Sridevi. We were doing Laadla and they would say 'Tumko kaise allowed hai Sri ke van ke andar jaana?' (How are you allowed inside Sri's vanity?) In the morning, I would be doing my makeup, I used to obviously arrive before Sri and Sri would come and knock on my van and say 'are you done with your make up? Come on, come into my van and sit with me.' So she and me had that kind of a rapport, almost till her end," she recalled. Raveena said that the first guests that she and her husband Anil invited over to their house were Boney Kapoor and Sridevi and the four of them would hang out quite a lot. "We were always close and she would always trust me and she would talk to me and she would tell me things," she shared. Raveena then recalled the time when Boney Kapoor left Mona and got married to Sridevi. "I used to be quite in a dilemma at the time because at that time, Mona was also a very very dear friend of mine. But I was working with Sri and she became a dear friend so for some years, I was torn apart. Unfortunately, they went through that entire thing but both of them, two beautiful souls we lost too early," she shared. Raveena said that she understood both Mona and Sridevi's points of view and was there to support both. "I was understanding Mona's issues as well and I would understand Sri's issues as well so I was kind of there for both of them. I was just there for them. What people are going through in their personal life is their personal life, you cannot interfere after a certain extent but you can just be there for them, to understand them and to be a moral support for them, while not criticising and not talking ill about the other person but you can see what's going on in people's lives," she said. Mona Kapoor passed away in 2012 and Sridevi passed away in 2018.
