Browns Rookie Running Back Judkins Set to Debut Against Ravens

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins is expected to make his NFL debut this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. League sources confirmed the news to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Saturday. Judkins, the 36th overall pick in the recent draft, has been practicing with the team this week after missing training camp.

Judkins' absence stemmed from his arrest in July on a misdemeanor domestic violence and battery charge. Prosecutors declined to formally pursue the charge on August 14th. The Browns signed Judkins to a fully guaranteed four-year, $11.4 million deal last Saturday.

Coach Kevin Stefanski indicated that Judkins had met all team expectations leading up to the game. Judkins was listed as questionable to play on Friday. He did not participate in the Browns' season-opening loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The NFL is still reviewing Judkins' situation, but he was not placed on the commissioner exempt list and is eligible to play. His return is anticipated to bolster the Browns' running game, which struggled in the previous game, managing only 49 rushing yards and averaging 2 yards per carry.

BNN's Perspective:

The Browns' decision to allow Judkins to play, while the NFL review is ongoing, highlights the complexities of balancing player development with legal and ethical considerations. While the team is clearly eager to utilize Judkins' talent, the league's continued scrutiny underscores the seriousness of the allegations and the need for due process. The Browns will need to carefully manage the situation to ensure both the player's well-being and the team's reputation are protected.
