Socialite and Humanitarian Pat Montandon Dies at 96
Pat Montandon, a celebrated socialite, television host, and author, has passed away at the age of 96. Her son, Sean Wilsey, announced her death in a social media post. Montandon spent her final months at an elder care home.
During the 1960s, Montandon was a prominent figure in San Francisco's social scene. She was known for hosting extravagant parties that drew celebrities, including Andy Warhol, and Frank Sinatra, with whom she briefly had a relationship. Beyond her social life, Montandon also worked as a television host and newspaper columnist in the Bay Area.
Montandon was also an author, penning several nonfiction books. Her works included "How to Be a Party Girl," and "Whispers from God: A Life Beyond Imaginings."
In her later years, Montandon dedicated herself to humanitarian work and peace advocacy. She founded Children as Teachers for Peace and was nominated multiple times for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her efforts.
Montandon is survived by her son, Sean.
