FX Orders *Snowfall* Spinoff to Series, Focusing on West Coast Rap

FX has greenlit a spinoff series based on the popular drama *Snowfall*, with Gail Bean and Isaiah John reprising their roles. The new, as-yet-untitled series is slated to premiere next year on FX and Hulu. The project, which entered development in 2023 as the original series concluded, will delve into the formative era of West Coast rap.

The spinoff will follow the characters of Wanda and Leon Simmons, as they navigate the burgeoning West Coast rap scene. The narrative will explore the efforts of an addict to take West Coast rap mainstream, while record labels attempt to capitalize on the burgeoning hip-hop culture.

The series will be produced by FX Productions.

The original *Snowfall*, created by the late John Singleton, Eric Amadio, and Dave Andron, aired for six seasons on FX from 2017 to 2023. It depicted the crack cocaine epidemic of the 1980s in South Central L.A.
