Savannah Chrisley Celebrates Trump's Pardon of Parents, Vows Support
Savannah Chrisley, daughter of reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, is overjoyed after President Donald Trump granted her parents a full pardon, effectively clearing their names and allowing them to restart their lives. The news comes after the couple's 2022 conviction on charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion.
Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie received a seven-year sentence. Both were also ordered to serve probation and pay $17.8 million in restitution. Savannah, a vocal advocate for her parents since their convictions, revealed that Trump personally called her, informing her of the pardon while she was at Sam's Club. She described the moment as "unbelievable" and expressed immense gratitude.
In an Instagram video, Savannah stated that the pardon represents a "new beginning" for her parents. She recounted a memorable moment from her conversation with Trump, where he reportedly said, "You guys don't look like terrorists to me," indicating his belief that the couple's treatment was unfair. Trump, according to Savannah, felt their sentences were "outrageous" and wanted to do more than just commute them.
The Chrisley family had actively sought assistance from the Trump administration, with Savannah even speaking at the 2024 Republican National Convention to highlight what she called a "gross miscarriage of justice." She admitted to being shocked by the call, having "lost hope" before receiving the news.
Savannah also pledged her support to Trump, vowing to "stand next to you" as he continues to challenge what he claims is corruption within the justice system. The Chrisleys' legal troubles stemmed from fraudulent bank loan applications and falsified financial documents dating back to 2007. Despite the convictions, the family has maintained their innocence. The Chrisleys are expected to be released this week.
