Savannah Chrisley Shares First Thoughts on Parents' Release from Prison
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Savannah Chrisley opens up about her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, returning home after being released from prison. The couple, who were convicted in 2022 on financial crimes, were granted full and unconditional pardons by President Donald Trump and returned home on May 28th.
Savannah, 27, host of the "Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley" podcast, describes the experience as "amazing" but still "unreal." She shares that her parents are "in shock" as they adjust to life outside prison after serving time since January 2023. While the transition is challenging, Savannah emphasizes the family is "grateful" and eager to return to a sense of normalcy.
During her parents' incarceration, Savannah took on the roles of both breadwinner and legal guardian for her younger siblings, Grayson, 19, and Chloe, 12. She also launched her Good Girl RX business and became deeply involved in prison reform. She plans to work with various organizations, including CPAC, to advocate for change.
Savannah reveals that her parents are also committed to helping others affected by the justice system. She says they now have a "heart for these men, women that are in prison" and are determined to use their experiences to make a difference. The family is focusing on spending time together and supporting each other through this significant life change.
