High School Sports Roundup: Baseball, Lacrosse, and More Dominate Saturday's Action

Saturday saw a flurry of exciting high school sports action across various leagues and non-league contests. Baseball, lacrosse, and tennis teams battled it out, delivering impressive performances and memorable moments.

In baseball, North Quincy defeated Scituate 5-2, with Max LaMonica showcasing his pitching prowess with 12 strikeouts. Weston also secured a victory against Cambridge, 5-2, thanks to Aidan Murphy's strong performance. BC High dominated Central Catholic with a 13-2 win, while Newton North triumphed over Lexington, 7-4.

Boys' lacrosse saw Southeastern's Peyton Volz break a school record with 172 career goals in a 14-1 win over Cardinal Spellman. Manchester-Essex and Pingree also had strong showings, defeating Masconomet and Milton Academy, respectively. Austin Prep secured a victory against Vermont Academy.

Girls' lacrosse provided its share of excitement. Chelmsford defeated Ashland 13-1, with Julianna Lanzillo leading the charge with four goals. Ursuline edged out Oliver Ames in overtime, and Bishop Feehan cruised to a 17-3 victory over Holliston. Dighton-Rehoboth and Latin Academy also celebrated wins, with Latin Academy's Nevaeh Eth hitting her 100th career home run.

In other sports, Dighton-Rehoboth swept King Philip in volleyball, and Shawn Theriault was named the new head football coach at Billerica.
