Russian rebels claim they have 'thousands' of recruits ready to storm Moscow
Russian
rebels fighting against the Kremlin have thousands of applicants waiting to join their ranks and are planning to continue attacking their motherland until they can storm Moscow, according to their commander. Just over a week after their latest attack on Belgorod Oblast, Russia, which borders northeastern Ukraine, the Free Russia Legion have claimed they have every intention of continuing their rebel activity and are developing serious capabilities.
Made up of dissident Russian soldiers and volunteers, the group is determined to use force to first support the removal of Putins soldiers from Ukraine before violently ousting the Russian President swiftly afterwards.

The commander of the Free Russia Legion, Maximilian Andronikov, who goes by the callsign Caesar, said his outfit had mortars, armoured vehicles, stinger manpads, portable anti-tank systems and a highly effective drone reconnaissance unit ready to be taken into battle.
The 49-year-old former fitness instructor told
The Times
they planned to keep performing harassment raids in Russia, crossing over from eastern Ukraine, to encourage other Russians to join their ranks.
He said: Once that happens we will quickly grow our force and numbers and it will end with the Kremlin campaign.
On May 29, seven days after their latest attack on Russian soil, they issued another recruitment call to the Russian people.

A statement on their Telegram read:
We call on all leaders of the opposition movements to unite. Anyone who is ready to act and fight. Support the combat units of the Russian opposition.
The Free Russia Legion is a self-funded organisation that purchases their weapons from online retail services, as well as Russian military shops.
But Caesar stressed that the group is not a mercenary outfit, like the Russian Wagner Group, adding that they serve under the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
We fight within the structure of Ukrainian forces. Our main goal and task is the defence of Ukraine and de-occupation of its territories. After that we will go to free our home, he said.

On May 22, alongside the Russian Volunteers Corps, the Free Russia Legion crossed over the border and attempted to liberate the villages of
Kozinka and Gora-Podol in Belgorod Oblast.
The Kremlin swiftly accused Ukraine of committing terrorist acts in Russia, though Ukraine denied instructing the attack.
Heavy fighting, followed by multiple drone strikes, ensued as Russian border guards were reportedly overwhelmed by the surprise attack.
The two militias claimed they lost a couple of soldiers, with ten wounded, but that they largely returned to their bases in Ukraine unscathed.

They later posted pictures of their soldiers in Ukraine during a post-attack briefing alongside the Russian Volunteer Corps.
In a self-described manifesto, the legion describes itself as opposed to the tyrannical regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin, blaming him for turning their country into a pariah.
