Rod Wave Arrested in Georgia on Assault and Gun Charges, Released on Bond

Rapper Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was arrested on Tuesday, May 20th, in Georgia and booked into Fulton County Jail. The charges include aggravated assault and possession of a firearm. Jail records, as reported by Billboard, also list 12 additional charges against the artist, including aiming a pistol at another person, reckless conduct, and obstruction of law enforcement.

The arrest stems from an alleged altercation that occurred on April 21st. Despite the serious nature of the charges, Rod Wave was released on the same day after posting a $50,000 bond.

Green's attorney, Drew Findling, has vehemently denied the allegations, stating that Green was the victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. Findling expressed confidence that the charges will be resolved favorably for his client. Billboard has reached out to representatives for Rod Wave and the Milton Police Department for further comment.

This isn't the first time the rapper has faced legal trouble. In April 2024, he was arrested on gun charges in Florida, though he was later released due to inaccurate information. In May 2022, he was arrested on a felony charge of battery by strangulation, which was later dropped.

On the music front, Rod Wave released his latest album, "Last Lap," in October 2024, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. He has also released two singles in 2025.

BNN's Perspective: While the legal system must run its course, the repeated arrests raise concerns. It's crucial to remember that these are allegations, and everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, the frequency of these incidents warrants a closer look at the circumstances surrounding them, regardless of the artist's success.
