Siggy Flicker, "Real Housewives" Star, Appointed to Holocaust Museum Board by Trump

Former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Siggy Flicker has been appointed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's board of trustees by former President Donald Trump. The museum, located in Washington, D.C., serves as the official U.S. memorial to the Holocaust and works to combat antisemitism through education and remembrance.

Flicker, who was born in Israel to Jewish parents and whose father escaped Nazi-occupied Belgium, expressed her gratitude for the appointment on social media. Trump, in a post on Truth Social, emphasized the new council members' support for Israel. The council, established by Congress in 1980, consists of 55 members appointed by the president, along with members from the Senate, House of Representatives, and various government departments. Council members serve five-year terms.

This appointment comes amidst controversy surrounding Flicker's family. Her stepson, Tyler Campanella, was arrested in April 2024 and charged with multiple misdemeanors related to the January 6th Capitol riots. Flicker has been a vocal supporter of Trump, sharing photos with him and expressing her admiration on social media.

BNN's Perspective: While it's understandable that President Trump would appoint individuals who share his political views, the appointment of a reality TV personality to such a significant role raises questions. The Holocaust Museum's mission is critical, and ensuring the board is comprised of individuals with a deep understanding of the Holocaust and a commitment to its mission is paramount. While Flicker's heritage and family history are relevant, her lack of experience in this field is concerning.
