Putin Proposes Direct Peace Talks with Ukraine in Istanbul
In a significant development, Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed direct peace talks with Ukrainian officials in Istanbul to end the ongoing war. This offer, announced on Sunday, marks a potential shift in Russia's stance, though it comes with conditions. Putin stated the talks should be held without preconditions and aim for a lasting peace. He suggested the negotiations could begin as early as Thursday.
