PS5 Outpaces Nintendo Switch 2 in Latest Quarter

In a closely watched battle for console supremacy, Sony's PlayStation 5 has emerged victorious over Nintendo's Switch 2 in the latest quarter. According to Sony's Q3 FY2025 earnings report, the PS5 sold 8 million units in the quarter ending September 30, 2025. Looking ahead, Sony's PlayStation 6 is not expected to launch until 2027, potentially giving Nintendo an advantage in the next generation of consoles. Microsoft's Xbox may also delay its next hardware release until 2027.
