ProPublica Announces 2025 Investigative Editor Training Program Cohort

**New York, NY** - ProPublica, the non-profit investigative newsroom, has unveiled the journalists selected for its 2025 Investigative Editor Training Program. This initiative, launched in 2023, aims to bolster investigative journalism by equipping editors across the nation with the skills and experience needed to hold power accountable.

The program, funded by the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation, will bring together nine journalists from various newsrooms alongside four ProPublica staff members. Participants will undergo an intensive five-day editing boot camp in New York, followed by bi-monthly virtual seminars and mentorship from ProPublica senior editors. This comprehensive approach is designed to foster accountability reporting across the country.

The 2025 cohort includes a diverse group of experienced journalists, including Alejandra Cancino (Injustice Watch), Daarel Burnette II (The Chronicle of Higher Education), Daphne Chen (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel), Nic Garcia (The Texas Tribune), Nicole Lewis (The Marshall Project), Andrea Lopez-Villafaa (Voice of San Diego), Jennifer Palmer (Oklahoma Watch), Chastity Pratt (The Washington Post), and Milton Valencia (The Boston Globe). They bring a wealth of experience from various beats, including government, education, criminal justice, and data-driven investigations.

The ProPublica staff members participating are Peter DiCampo, Duaa Eldeib, Hannah Fresques, and Andrea Wise.
