Box Art Brawl: Professor Layton and Pandora's Box Designs Face Off

In this week's installment of the "Box Art Brawl," the focus shifts to the second game in the Professor Layton DS trilogy: *Professor Layton and Pandora's Box*. The competition features three distinct box art designs: European, North American, and Japanese.

The European design presents a busy layout, with the game's key art centered on the titular box. Six puzzles are highlighted around the box against a bright red background.

The North American design takes a more streamlined approach. The key art, featuring Layton, Luke, the box, and the Molentary Express, takes center stage. Anton's head looms in the background. Puzzles are relegated to a blue bar at the bottom of the cover.

The Japanese design mirrors the North American version, but replaces the puzzles with a written plot summary in the lower bar. The title art is also shifted to the right, providing more space for Anton's menacing head.

The previous week's "Box Art Brawl" featured *Mendel Palace*, with the North American design winning against the Japanese design.

BNN's Perspective: The variety in design choices for game box art is always interesting. While the European design is visually striking, the North American and Japanese versions offer a cleaner presentation. The choice between highlighting puzzles or providing a plot summary is a key difference. Ultimately, the best design will depend on individual preferences.
