Sony's PlayStation Portal, a handheld device released two years ago, is receiving a significant update that enhances its functionality. The update introduces cloud streaming capabilities, allowing users to play PlayStation 5 games without needing the console to be turned on. This feature, previously in beta, is now available to a wider audience.

The cloud streaming feature requires a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription, which costs $18 per month or $160 annually.
