David Gilmour to Release Concert Film and Live Album
Legendary guitarist David Gilmour is set to release a concert film and live album capturing his recent "Luck and Strange Concerts" tour. The tour, which featured performances from both Pink Floyd's extensive catalog and Gilmour's solo work, was a highlight for classic rock fans.
The concert film, titled "Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome," will premiere in select theaters, including IMAX locations, on September 17th. The film documents Gilmour and his band performing at the historic Circus Maximus in Rome. It will be available for a limited time only. Fans can find more information, including a list of participating theaters, at davidgilmour.film.
For those who miss the theatrical release or prefer a home viewing experience, "Live at the Circus Maximus" will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 17th.
Accompanying the film is "The Luck and Strange Concerts" audio release. This live album will feature 23 tracks recorded during the tour, available in both a four-LP vinyl set and a two-CD format. The album includes renditions of classic Pink Floyd songs and Gilmour's solo material. The audio release is also scheduled for October 17th. Further details can be found at davidgilmour.com.
BNN's Perspective:
The release of these concert recordings is a welcome event for music fans. While the tour's limited U.S. dates may have disappointed some, the film and album offer a chance for a wider audience to experience Gilmour's performance. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the legacy of a true musical icon.
