Pentagon Releases More Declassified UFO Files
The Pentagon has released another tranche of declassified files related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs), the official term for UFOs, as part of a rolling release ordered by a previous administration. The latest release, made public on Friday, includes over 50 previously classified videos and documents.
Among the newly disclosed materials are several intriguing videos. One video, captured in April 2024 by a U.S. Coast Guard infrared sensor, depicts an object flying near an aircraft. Another video, labeled "Syrian UAP instant acceleration," was recorded in 2021 by a U.S. military platform and uploaded to a classified network in 2024. A third video, from 2020, appears to show a sphere flying over a population center before ascending into the sky.
The files also contain a written account from a senior U.S. intelligence officer detailing an encounter with two large, light-emitting orbs during a mission. Fighter jets were dispatched to investigate the objects, but were unable to identify them. The officer described the experience as leaving them "virtually speechless."
The Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) has investigated these incidents and others. While officials admit that many remain "unresolved" and lack explanation, they have found no evidence to suggest an extraterrestrial origin for the observed phenomena.
This latest release follows the unveiling of the first batch of files two weeks prior, which included documents dating back to the late 1940s. The Pentagon's top spokesman reported that the new website hosting these files has already garnered over a billion views worldwide. The President, who ordered the declassification, stated that the goal was "Complete and Maximum Transparency" to allow the public to draw their own conclusions.
BNN's Perspective:
The continued release of these UAP files is a positive step towards government transparency. While the lack of definitive answers regarding the nature of these phenomena may fuel speculation, the open sharing of information allows for informed public discourse and encourages scientific inquiry. The government's commitment to investigating these incidents, even if the explanations remain elusive, is a responsible approach.
