Body of Recently Released Inmate Found in Mississippi
Authorities in Neshoba County, Mississippi, are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered last Friday. The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Charles Warner Ingram. The body was found on a farm property by a man mowing his lawn.
According to the Neshoba County Sheriff's Office, the body was partially decomposed. Law enforcement, including the Neshoba County Medical Examiner and Mississippi Bureau of Investigations, were called to the scene to gather evidence.
Ingram was last seen on August 16, after being released from the Neshoba County Detention Facility. He had been incarcerated from July 13 to August 14, 2025, on two Failure to Appear warrants. Surveillance footage captured Ingram walking to the jail and drinking from a fountain before leaving on foot toward Highway 15.
The property where the body was found is located approximately a half-mile west of Highway 15, near where Ingram was last seen. The Mississippi Forensics Laboratory identified Ingram through his fingerprints.
Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of death and how Ingram ended up on the property. Initial reports suggest the body had been there for an extended period, potentially four to six weeks. The investigation is ongoing.
BNN's Perspective: This case highlights the complexities surrounding the reintegration of individuals released from incarceration. While the circumstances of Mr. Ingram's death are still under investigation, it underscores the need for support systems and resources to assist individuals in transitioning back into the community after release.
