Cannes Film Festival Jury Unveils Star-Studded Lineup
The prestigious Cannes Film Festival has announced the jury that will decide the winner of the coveted Palme d'Or at this year's event. Leading the panel will be director Park Chan-wook, joined by a diverse group of acclaimed actors, directors, and screenwriters.
Among the notable figures on the jury are actress Demi Moore, director Chloé Zhao, and actor Stellan Skarsgård. Moore, fresh off a successful return to the festival in 2024, has garnered critical acclaim and award nominations for her recent work. Zhao, known for her Oscar-winning film *Nomadland*, will bring her directorial expertise to the selection process. Skarsgård, who was present at Cannes last year, adds further star power to the panel.
The jury also includes Ruth Negga, an Irish-Ethiopian actress and producer; Laura Wandel, a Belgian director and screenwriter; Diego Céspedes, a Chilean filmmaker; Isaach De Bankolé, an Ivorian-American actor; and Paul Laverty, a Scottish screenwriter. Laverty has a strong connection to the festival, having written two Palme d'Or-winning films.
The jury will have the challenging task of selecting the best film from a field of 22 competing entries. Last year's top prize was awarded by a jury led by Juliette Binoche.
