Opry Entertainment Group to Manage South Carolina Amphitheater
Simpsonville City Council has approved an 11-year management agreement with Opry Entertainment Group (OEG) to manage and operate the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park. The city will retain ownership of the venue.
OEG, a subsidiary of Ryman Hospitality Properties, is known for managing a diverse portfolio of venues, including the Grand Ole Opry House and Ascend Federal Credit Union Amphitheater. The company plans to invest at least $6 million in the amphitheater over the initial five years. These investments will focus on improving guest amenities, infrastructure, parking, traffic management, and food and beverage offerings.
The CCNB Amphitheatre is a 14,000-capacity open-air venue. OEG intends to implement an open-room programming approach starting with the 2026 season, offering a diverse mix of concerts and events. The company also plans to utilize the venue and adjacent Heritage Park for family-friendly community and civic events.
Both OEG and the City of Simpsonville are optimistic about the partnership. OEG's CEO, Patrick Moore, believes the amphitheater has the potential to become a nationally recognized entertainment destination. Mayor Paul Shewmaker of Simpsonville anticipates that OEG will bring a new level of excitement and fan experience to the venue.
BNN's Perspective: This agreement appears to be a positive development for the community. The investment from OEG and the planned improvements suggest a commitment to enhancing the entertainment options available to residents. The focus on diverse programming and community events could further benefit the area.
