OnePlus Launches Pad 3 Tablet with Powerful Specs and Enhanced Features
OnePlus has unveiled its latest tablet, the Pad 3, marking a significant upgrade in the company's tablet lineup. This new device is the first outside of China to feature the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising high performance.
The Pad 3 boasts a larger 13.2-inch display compared to its predecessors, offering a 3.4K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Despite the larger screen, OnePlus has managed to keep the tablet impressively thin, measuring just 5.97mm. The device runs on Android 15 and is designed to function as a laptop replacement when paired with a separately sold keyboard and stylus.
The tablet is equipped with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, with a 16GB RAM option available in Europe. A 12,140mAh battery provides power, and 80W wired charging allows for a full charge in approximately an hour and a half. The rear design has been updated, featuring a simpler pill-shaped camera module.
Software enhancements are a key focus of the Pad 3. The tablet offers improved multitasking capabilities, including streamlined split-screening and enhanced drag-and-drop functionality. OnePlus phone owners will benefit from direct file-sharing, smarter notification syncing, and data sharing features that allow the tablet to utilize the phone's connection, potentially conserving phone battery life. The O Plus Connect software enables easy wireless file transfers between the tablet and Mac or Windows PCs, with Mac users gaining the added benefit of direct remote control of their computers. OnePlus has committed to providing three generations of OS updates and six years of security support for the Pad 3.
The Pad 3 is available for pre-order now. The model with 12GB of RAM is priced at $699.99, while the 16GB RAM option in Europe costs 699. The Smart Keyboard is priced at $199.99, and the Stylo 2 is available for $99.99.
BNN's Perspective: The OnePlus Pad 3 appears to be a strong contender in the tablet market, offering a compelling combination of powerful hardware, innovative software features, and a competitive price point. While the larger screen and added weight might impact portability, the enhanced performance and multitasking capabilities could make it a worthwhile upgrade for users seeking a versatile device.
