Steven Arthur Proctor Sr., a devoted family man and avid sports enthusiast, passed away on October 17, 2025, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a prolonged illness. He was 62 years old.

Born on May 26, 1963, Steven grew up in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School in 1982. He married Debora Boynton on September 14, 1985, and they made their home in China, where they raised their children, Steven Jr. and Shannon.

Throughout his life, Steven held various positions, including a period working at BIW and later as a maintenance supervisor at an assisted living facility. He was a passionate fan of New England sports teams, supporting the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins, with a particular fondness for Notre Dame college football. His greatest joy, however, came from watching his grandchildren's sporting events, never missing a game and always their biggest supporter.

Beyond sports, Steven enjoyed camping with family and friends, particularly in Rangeley and Jackman. He also found pleasure in trips to Foxwoods, fishing, and riding ATVs. He was known for his vibrant personality and sense of humor, and he was deeply loved by all who knew him.

Steven was predeceased by his mother, Jean Proctor. He is survived by his wife, Debora Proctor; his children, Steven Proctor Jr. and Shannon Proctor; and his grandchildren, Desirae Proctor, Dylan Proctor, Khloe Price, Levi Proctor, Aiden Price, and Tanner Proctor. He is also survived by his siblings, Lynne Berry, Mayland Proctor, Donna Smith, Shari Lachance, Caryn Weaver, and Craig Proctor, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his in-law family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, followed by a funeral service on Saturday. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to MaineGeneral Health, memo: Cancer Center in memory of Steven Proctor.
