Local Resident Jessie Cobb Passes Away at 92

West Gardiner resident Jessie (Gagnon) Cobb has died at the age of 92. Born on February 8, 1933, she passed away on November 5, 2025.

Cobb was a graduate of Gardiner High School. Throughout her life, she held various positions in the Gardiner area, including roles at M.A.S.H. Doctors Office, Gardiner Hospital, William S. Williams Construction Company, and Key Bank.

Cobb was known for her dedication to her family, particularly her children and grandchildren, supporting them in their various endeavors. She cherished a visit to her son David while he was stationed on the USS Enterprise and enjoyed traveling, having visited over 30 states. Her travels extended to Europe and Asia, where she visited her son Brian during his overseas work, forming friendships in Germany and China.

In her later years, Cobb enjoyed bowling, participating in both candlepin and 10-pin leagues.

Cobb was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Alton H. Cobb, Jr., and her six siblings. She was also predeceased by a close friend.

She is survived by her sons, David and Brian, along with grandchildren and a great lifelong friend.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 13, with services following at Staples Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
