Albion, Maine – Barbara G. Clark, a registered nurse and dedicated outdoor enthusiast, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 28, 1936, she was a graduate of Beeman Academy and went on to earn her nursing degree from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1957.
Clark dedicated many years to her nursing career, initially working at Thayer Hospital in Waterville, Maine. She later specialized as a nurse anesthetist and furthered her education, obtaining a master's degree in adult education. This led to her role as director of the School of Nursing Anesthesia at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, Maine.
Beyond her professional life, Clark was an avid outdoorswoman. She found joy in hiking, camping, skiing, and canoeing. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in her long-standing involvement with the Maine Appalachian Trail Club, where she was a member since 1957, and the Appalachian Mountain Club, which she joined in 1962. She served as the general and membership secretary for the Maine Appalachian Trail Club for 16 years.
Clark was a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by her sister, two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Caia Judge, in 2022.
