Saudi Arabia and Nvidia Team Up for a Billion-Dollar AI Revolution
In a landmark deal, Nvidia is partnering with Saudi Arabia to propel the kingdom into a global AI leadership position by 2030. This ambitious collaboration, spearheaded by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and HUMAIN, a new AI-focused subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, involves a multi-billion dollar investment in AI infrastructure, workforce development, and cutting-edge technology.
The core of the agreement centers around the deployment of hundreds of thousands of Nvidia's latest GB300 superchips. HUMAIN plans to establish new AI data centers with up to 500 megawatts of computing capacity, starting with 18,000 GB300 Grace Blackwell superchips. These powerful chips, connected via Nvidia's InfiniBand networking, will be crucial for training and operating sovereign AI models at scale within Saudi Arabia.
Beyond hardware, the partnership encompasses the adoption of Nvidia's Omniverse platform, enabling the development of physical AI and robotics applications across various industries. This will facilitate the creation of digital twins and simulation tools, optimizing physical environments for enhanced efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
A key component of the collaboration is workforce development. Nvidia and HUMAIN will collaborate to upskill thousands of Saudi citizens and developers in crucial areas like robotics, simulation, and digital twin technologies. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's broader "Vision 2030" plan, which aims to diversify the economy and foster digital transformation. This strategic move underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to becoming a global leader in AI and advanced digital infrastructure, as stated by key figures like His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN.
