Bob Odenkirk Admits "Nobody" Was Made to Impress SNL Buddies

Actor Bob Odenkirk has revealed the surprising motivation behind his 2021 action film, *Nobody*. The star of *Better Call Saul* confessed that he made the movie primarily to impress his former colleagues from *Saturday Night Live*. Odenkirk, who was a writer on the show from 1987 to 1991, shared his thoughts during a recent podcast interview.

Odenkirk specifically mentioned wanting to impress comedians Conan O'Brien, Robert Smigel, Adam Sandler, and David Spade. He recalled envisioning their reactions to the film, particularly Spade's, and how he hoped they would be impressed by his performance.

O'Brien, who was aware of the project before its release, admitted he was initially unsure about the film. However, he was quickly won over by Odenkirk's surprising action skills. O'Brien was so impressed that he even requested a cameo in the sequel, which was released on August 15th. Unfortunately, he did not make the cut.

The sequel continues the story of Hutch Mansell, Odenkirk's character, a retired assassin drawn back into his dangerous past. The film sees Mansell and his family facing new threats, including a corrupt theme-park operator, a shady sheriff, and a bloodthirsty crime boss.

Odenkirk has hinted at the possibility of a third *Nobody* film. He expressed a desire for the final installment to conclude with his character losing everything he loves. He views the character's actions as an addiction, and the film's appeal as a way to explore the release of rage.

BNN's Perspective:

It's refreshing to hear an actor be so candid about their motivations. While the primary goal of a film is to entertain, it's interesting to see how personal relationships and the desire to impress peers can also play a role in the creative process. It's a testament to the power of friendship and the enduring impact of shared experiences.
