Scherzinger Stuns at Tony Awards with "Sunset Blvd." Performance

New York City – The 78th Annual Tony Awards saw a show-stopping performance from Nicole Scherzinger, captivating the audience with a rendition of "As If We Never Said Goodbye" from the musical *Sunset Blvd.* The performance, which took place at Radio City Music Hall, earned a standing ovation from the Broadway elite.

Scherzinger, 46, performed in character as Norma Desmond, the lead role in the Jamie Lloyd-directed revival. The song, written by Don Black, Christopher Hampton, Amy Powers, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, is a well-known tune, previously performed by artists such as Glenn Close, Barbara Streisand, and Chris Colfer.

The performance was preceded by an introduction from Glenn Close, who originated the role of Norma Desmond and won a Tony for the show's 1993 Broadway debut. Close had seen the current production in April.

Scherzinger is nominated for her first Tony Award for her Broadway debut, following her 2023 Laurence Olivier Award win for the West End run of *Sunset Blvd.* Her costar, Tom Francis, is also nominated.
