According to Nawaz, a film screening at Cannes doesn't guarantee good reviews back home. He further spoke about how easy it is to screen your own films at the prestigious film festival.

He said that one has to simply book an auditorium to take their movie to Cannes despite it missing the official selection. Nawazuddin added that once the makers have hired a hall, they just have to roll out the red carpet, take pictures and show the film to their "own people." They can then come back and boast about their flick screening at Cannes.

The Sacred Games star also mocked celebrities attending the prestigious event saying that he doesn't know why and how some of them even attend the Cannes Film Festival. He recalled asking people why they were there when he was attending the festival. Most of them would say that their film has come to Cannes but Nawaz never knew how.
