Apart from appointing Dr Raghuvanshi as president, the company has reshuffled the NATHEALTH leadership. The newly elected NATHEALTH leadership team also includes Ameera Shah, Promoter and MD, Metropolis Healthcare, as Senior Vice President; Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director, Max Healthcare Institute Limited, as Vice President; Shishir Agarwal, Managing Director, Terumo India Pvt Ltd, as Secretary and Visalakshi Chandramouli, Managing Partner, TATA Capital Healthcare Fund, as Treasurer.

New Delhi: Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD and CEO, Fortis Healthcare has been announced as the President of NATHEALTH an apex body representing the entire ecosystem of the Indian healthcare industry. He takes the charge erstwhile charge from Dr Shravan Subramanyam, President of NATHEALTH, during FY 202223.
The other newly elected NATHEALTH leadership team includes other luminaries viz -- Ameera Shah, Promoter and MD, Metropolis Healthcare, as Senior Vice President; Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director, Max Healthcare Institute Limited, as Vice President; Shishir Agarwal, Managing Director, Terumo India Pvt Ltd, as Secretary; and Visalakshi Chandramouli, Managing Partner, TATA Capital Healthcare Fund, as Treasurer. Sunil Thakur, Partner, Quadria Capital, has been given the charge to lead the taskforce to establish a separate NATHEALTH foundation.
Speaking on his appointment as the President of NATHEALTH, Dr Raghuvanshi said, "In the last few years, we are seeing growing confidence of the world in the Indian healthcare sector. It is important to capitalize on the advantage India has gained and work towards further strengthening its position at a global level. This is where NATHEALTHs role becomes important, due to the strong foundation it has today, the trust placed in it by the healthcare industry, and its collaborative role in threading the various elements within the ecosystem together."
He further stated that continuous efforts are required to address the barriers to access to quality healthcare, ensure the last-mile reach of healthcare services, and look at new alternative models to deliver healthcare services.
"NATHEALTH, over the last decade, has contributed considerably by being an effective bridge between the industry and government, and we will continue to work towards making India Atmanirbhar in the coming years," Raghuvanshi added.
Emphasizing that with India focusing on innovation and creating in-house technologies, the healthcare sector in India is set to witness significant growth in the coming years, Ameera Shah, Senior Vice President, NATHEALTH, and Promoter and Managing Director, Metropolis Healthcare, said, "We are also expecting organisations to increase their investments in the healthcare system to improve access and affordability in the next 8 to 10 years. With that said, it is equally important to prioritize patient safety and empower patients to know their rights and ensure that providers operate on minimum standards that guarantee safety for patients."
Commenting that going forward NATHEALTHs relevance will become much deeper and more expansive, Ms Shah said, "It is a matter of immense pride that NATHEALTH has won the trust of various healthcare stakeholders in the last few years through its solid, collaborative role in stringing together important pieces of national priority and bringing them up for deliberations and a solution-based approach on visible industry platforms."

Government's strong emphasis on digitization and schemes such as PMJAY to increase access to healthcare services for the unreached population has played a pivotal role in cementing India's position in the global healthcare market," said Abhay Soi, Vice President, NATHEALTH and Chairman & MD, Max Healthcare Institute Limited, adding that NATHEALTH as the apex healthcare body is best placed to take this agenda further.
"With the recognition gained in the last few years, NATHEALTH provides the optimum platform to stakeholders across various sectors to deliberate on alternate healthcare models and sustain the momentum gained by India in the areas of access, infrastructure, and digital health to achieve universal health coverage," concluded Soi.
According to a press statement, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Secretary General, NATHEALTH, will continue to lead and head the NATHEALTH secretariat.
