NASCAR Heads to Phoenix for a Weekend of Racing

The NASCAR Cup Series and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series are set to compete this weekend at Phoenix Raceway. The Craftsman Truck Series is taking a break, with its next race scheduled for March 14 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The racing action kicks off Thursday evening with the ARCA Menards Series' General Tire 150.

In the Cup Series, Joey Logano holds the record for the most wins at Phoenix Raceway among active drivers, with four victories. Kyle Busch remains the youngest Cup Series winner at the track, while Mark Martin is the oldest. Chevrolet boasts the longest winning streak at Phoenix, with ten consecutive wins from 2005 to 2010.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts Series sees Richard Childress Racing teammates Austin Hill and Jesse Love leading the points standings. This season has seen three different teams claim victory in the first three races: Richard Childress Racing, Haas Factory Team, and JR Motorsports. William Byron will make his first of three starts for JR Motorsports in the No. 88 car at Phoenix, with additional races planned at Kansas Speedway and Pocono Raceway.

The weekend schedule includes practice and qualifying sessions for the ARCA, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and Cup Series. The ARCA General Tire 150 will take place on Thursday evening. The O'Reilly Series GOVX 200 is scheduled for Saturday evening. The weekend culminates with the Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 500 on Sunday afternoon.
