Microsoft's Copilot AI Integrates with Samsung TVs and Monitors

Microsoft is expanding the reach of its Copilot AI assistant by integrating it into Samsung's 2025 lineup of TVs and smart monitors. This marks a significant step in bringing AI-powered assistance directly to the living room.

Users of compatible Samsung devices will now be able to access Copilot through the Tizen OS homescreen, Samsung Daily Plus, and Click to Search features. The AI assistant can be activated using voice commands or by selecting it with the remote control. Once engaged, Copilot presents a friendly, animated interface, described as a "personified chickpea" that floats and moves on the screen while responding to user queries.

The integration allows users to ask Copilot a variety of questions, including requests for movie suggestions and spoiler-free episode recaps. Microsoft emphasizes that users can sign into the app for a more personalized experience, enabling Copilot to reference previous conversations and user preferences.

The rollout of Copilot on Samsung devices is underway, encompassing a range of models, including Micro RGB, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame Pro, and The Frame TVs, as well as M7, M8, and M9 smart monitors. Microsoft has also indicated plans to bring Copilot to LG TVs in the future, suggesting a broader expansion of the AI assistant's availability across the smart TV market.

BNN's Perspective: This partnership between Microsoft and Samsung highlights the growing trend of integrating AI into everyday devices. While the potential for personalized entertainment recommendations and simplified access to information is promising, it's important to consider the implications of increased data collection and the potential for AI-driven content curation to influence user choices. Striking a balance between convenience and user privacy will be crucial as AI becomes more prevalent in our homes.
