Internet Pioneers to be Honored at VidCon Hall of Fame

VidCon is set to induct its second class of honorees into its Hall of Fame, recognizing the influential figures who helped shape online culture. The event, celebrating its 15th anniversary, will take place later this month. This year's inductees include prominent creators Markiplier, Philip DeFranco, Michelle Phan, and Cassey Ho, founder of Blogilates.

The four creators represent key archetypes within the early internet landscape: the gamer, the news commentator, the beauty guru, and the fitness creator. Their work established the foundation for the creator economy, paving the way for the multi-billion dollar industry it is today.

Markiplier, known for his gaming content, has expanded his career beyond the internet, with his self-funded horror film, *Iron Lung*, achieving significant success. Philip DeFranco, a veteran news commentator, has maintained a strong presence since 2006, influencing countless creators with his fast-paced commentary style. Michelle Phan, one of YouTube's earliest stars, co-founded IPSY, a subscription cosmetics company that transformed online beauty communities. Cassey Ho, through Blogilates, built a lifestyle and product empire based on community feedback, a model now common in the creator space.

The inductees were selected by a Hall of Fame Selection Committee composed of creator economy experts, past inductees, and members of the VidCon Advisory Board. The formal induction ceremony will occur during VidCon Anaheim's Opening Night Celebration on June 25th. The event is open to all VidCon badge holders, and custom Hall of Fame jerseys for each inductee will be displayed throughout the convention.
