Manoj Bajpayee Has Not Had Dinner In The Last 14 Years; Know Why

New Delhi: Manoj Bajpayee says he figured out the best way to keep his weight in check not eat dinner. And the critically acclaimed actor has not eaten his night meal for the last 14 years. In an interview, Bajpayee said that dinner does not feature in his daily routine for health reasons, and that decision, which he says was painful initially, was inspired by his grandfather, who had a thin, slender frame. Bajpayee advocates that the practice has benefitted him to keep his weight in check. It has been 13-14 years, I realized that my grandfather was very thin and super fit. So, I decided to follow his diet. And when I started that my weight started to come in control, he said in an interview with Curly Tales. I feel energetic and healthy, and that is when I decided I will stick with this practice. However, I have tweaked it according to my schedule, as I sometimes fast for 12 hours, and sometimes for 14, he added. Manoj says it was initially very challenging to stick to his routine of skipping dinner and to cope with his hunger pangs, he would consume water and healthy biscuits. However, according to the Family Man star, this lifestyle has now yielded positive effects on his overall health and well-being helping him reduce the risk of illnesses like diabetes, cholesterol, and heart disease. Is skipping dinner healthy? According to health experts, dinner should be eaten like supper before 7 pm every day. Eating an early and light dinner, according to nutritionists and dieticians, helps to improve sleep, and digestion boosts metabolism, and also reduces various other ailments. However, skipping dinner altogether, would not create a healthy calorie deficit which is important for weight loss. The study revealed that people who skip dinner usually snack on unhealthy foods in the evening. As a result, they feel fuller at night and skip their meal. Benefits of early dinner According to experts, most health problems can be solved in a jiffy if we only start to eat our dinner early. A few benefits of early dinner are: Weight loss Eating dinner early automatically leads to an effect similar to intermittent fasting, where the body converts the stored body fat into energy, rather than getting it from the glucose in the food that is currently being consumed. Better sleep Having an early dinner allows you at least 2-3 hours before bedtime. Since there is this gap, major parts of digestion have already occurred and the digestive system does not work when the body is at rest. Reduced risks of heart attacks Studies show that when we sleep, the blood pressure drops by nearly 10 per cent, allowing the body to rest and recover. When we wake up, our blood pressure begins to rise. Eating a late dinner adversely affects blood pressure. Relief from acid reflux Experts suggest that people who eat their dinner early may have less acid reflux and heartburn.
