Man Arrested in Connection with Series of Sexual Assaults

Los Angeles, CA - A 27-year-old man has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in connection with a string of sexual assaults that occurred over the past weekend. The incidents involved four women and girls, ranging in age from 13 to 42.

According to an LAPD news release, the assaults took place between Saturday and Monday. The victims were either grabbed or restrained while walking on sidewalks or inside stores. In one instance, the suspect approached a victim from behind, restrained her, and sexually assaulted her. The victim, with the assistance of community members, was able to track the suspect to a nearby apartment complex. LAPD Harbor Division patrol officers and detectives subsequently located and arrested the suspect at his residence within the complex.

The suspect, identified as David Ramirez, was booked for felony sexual battery. While the LAPD stated he is being held without bail, jail records indicate a bail amount of $100,000.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into the other crimes and believe that the suspect may have assaulted additional women in the area.
