Cal State Fullerton Falls to Cal in Decisive Matchup

BERKELEY, CA - Cal State Fullerton suffered a significant defeat against the University of California, Berkeley, on Monday night, with a final score of 93-65. Despite the lopsided outcome, graduate student Landon Seaman provided a notable performance for the Titans.

Seaman, a 6-foot-8 player, led Fullerton with 20 points, achieving a 9-of-14 shooting record. He also contributed four rebounds and two blocked shots. The Titans struggled throughout the game, trailing by 15 points at halftime and facing a deficit that reached as high as 34 points. Josh Ward added 12 points and eight rebounds for Fullerton.

Cal's offense was spearheaded by Dai Dai Ames, who scored 24 points, including six successful three-pointers. John Camden contributed 16 points, Chris Bell had 15 points and seven rebounds, and Justin Pippen added 14 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. Ames's strong first-half performance, with 13 points, helped Cal establish a 42-27 lead by halftime. While Seaman scored 10 points in the first half, the rest of the Fullerton team struggled, shooting 7 for 26 before the break.

Cal extended its lead in the second half, capitalizing on Fullerton's turnovers, which resulted in 21 points for the Golden Bears. Cal's shooting percentage was slightly better than Fullerton's, and they excelled from the three-point line and the free-throw line, where they had a significant advantage.

Fullerton will look to rebound in their next game, hosting Pacific on Saturday.

BNN's Perspective: While it's disappointing to see a team lose by such a margin, the performance of Landon Seaman offers a glimmer of hope for Cal State Fullerton. The team will need to address its turnovers and improve its shooting accuracy to be competitive in future games.
